🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Ken is making a difference with Crescent Kids

Meet Ken, who always look forward to our team meetings.🧑

Hiiiii Reader,

The last you heard from me was my feedback request, in case you have not been able to give that, please click the button below:

On the other hand, today, we shine the spotlight on one of our dedicated volunteers making a significant impact within the Crescent Kids community. Meet Kenneth Uka, whose passion for social impact led him to join our cause in April 2022.

I had a one-on-one chat with him and his response strengthened my resilience to do better for Crescent Kids. Kindly read below:

1. What inspired you to volunteer with Crescent Kids?

'I’ve always been drawn to social impact, and meeting Funmi (Co-founder of Crescent Kids) in March 2022 and learning about her vision and impact with CK sparked my interest in joining the community to contribute to the charity.'"

2. What specific role or tasks do you perform as a volunteer with Crescent Kids?

β€œI help out with random tasks bordering on operations, and support with marketing, web, and digital. It feels amazing to be within a multidimensional team with people from unique backgrounds and with excellent skill sets in research, projects, and growth.”

3. How do you feel your volunteer work has made a difference in the lives of children with sickle cell anemia or their families?

β€œI feel happy, that people living with SCD have support from our efforts, although with more resources we could reach a wider audience. Nonetheless, it’s refreshing to be a part of a huge project like Crescent Kids. Our stats and figures show that we have been working very hard to make a difference.”

4. Can you share a memorable experience or moment you've had while volunteering with Crescent Kids?

β€œI always look forward to our team meetings. It’s usually a great time to catch up with other team members and follow up on their journey. It’s always a wonderful and memorable time at Crescent Kids. Funmi does an excellent job managing the squad.”

5. Share a quote you live by.

β€œI consume a lot of stoic philosophy, and there is a range of favourite quotes that I hold dear to my heart. But today I will stick with this one: β€œThere is no easy way from the earth to the stars” - Seneca.”

Do you have anything you would like to ask Ken or our other volunteers?

There is no easy way from the Earth to the stars, I hope this inspires you one way or the other.

What about you, what quote do you live by?
